The Milan Fuorisalone is the most demanding environment in which a installer can work. Every year, the city transforms into a global showcase for design, and every installation is scrutinized by architects, buyers, and industry journalists from all over the world. There is no room for imperfections.
For this exhibition, Flavio Favali installed the eco-friendly paper designed by Simone Guidarelli for Officinarkitettura. Although this eco-friendly material is among the most sustainable available on the market, it requires precise technical handling: the paper reacts to changes in humidity and temperature differently than vinyl materials, and aligning the graphic pattern on display surfaces—which are often not perfectly square—requires experience and a keen eye.
The Challenge
Ensuring a seamless visual transition on temporary exhibition surfaces, within tight deadlines and with maximum visibility. Any visible seam would have been a public failure.
The result
A flawless installation, presented during one of the world’s most popular design weeks. Proof that the quality of the installation is an integral part of the design project.
